Multimodal Learning Analytics
Research focus
Learning analytics involves the measurement and analysis of data about learners to better understand and, if necessary, optimize the learning process. In addition to traditional data sources such as self-report questionnaires or tests, Multimodal Learning Analytics also takes into account data such as eye movements, facial expressions, heart rate, skin conductance, physical activity or interaction. This variety of data allows a more comprehensive insight into cognitive, affective and motivational processes during learning. In the Digital Psychology Lab, we use this approach to research how different digital environments (e.g. gaming environments) affect learning.
