Invited lectures at the PH Steiermark and in the competence network lernen:digital

At the end of the semester, our research group leader Manuel Ninaus was honored to present current DigiLab research findings in the form of two invited talks.

As part of the LevelUp lecture series of the lernen:digital competence network (https://lernen.digital/), he was able to explain the basics and significance of game-based learning to an interested specialist audience (lecture title: “Game-based Learning: Why? Why? Why?”).

Manuel Ninaus also had the opportunity to emphasize the potential of game-based learning in times of artificial intelligence at the final event of the university course “Subject Didactics in the Context of Mentoring” at the University College of Teacher Education Styria. In his lecture “Game-based Learning: Why leave learning to AI?”, he highlighted the challenges that (generative) AI brings with it in the educational context and the role that game-based learning can play in this (see also a relevant DigiLab article at https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10648-024-09868-z).

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the invitations and the inspiring discussions and look forward to further cooperation with the University College of Teacher Education Styria and the members of the lernen:digital competence network.
